Here we are 3 years on, apparently back to normal. I went to remove this page, and then felt it was an interesting record of the last few years, so will leave it for the moment. We thank all our customers that have supported us through these “interesting times”.
And on into 2022
Hopefully life is returning to something that looks more like normality. We are still only taking a £100 deposit for bookings.
( I thought I would remove this page, as hopefully being irrelevant, but it is a record of an interesting couple of years.)
Autumn 2021
All holidays are now operating as normal, lets hope that it carries on like that!
We are still working in a Covid safe way, and ask customers to respect our staff, and wear masks where appropriate.
June 2021
The boats are busy this season, and customers are relieved to be able to have their holidays, and be relatively free of restrictions once aboard. Most of our canal side pubs are operating. We are just pleased to be busy again, and able to operate. If you can’t find a boat for the date you want on the live availability we probably haven’t got anything, but it might be worth dropping us an email, just in case we can help.
And we are back in business
We will be sending boats out from 12th April. We will be in touch will all of our customers that have bookings to confirm, and to take balances.
We have availability throughout the season ahead, although bookings are strong.
We will carry on with our robust covid precautions throughout the season ahead, but at least we will be able to get you away on your holiday.
And the roadmap out of this!
We are pleased* to tell you that, as long as all goes well, we will be sending boats out again from 12th April, for single households only. We understand that should be eased from 14th May, but will have to wait and see. We are still operating with reduced staffing, if you can’t get us on the phone please feel free to email and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
*actually pleased doesn’t really cover it, we are so excited to be able to start getting you away on holiday again!!!!
National Lockdown Again
We are adjusting our opening hours, and will only be available by phone between 8.30 am and 11 am. We will be available by email outside those hours. We are taking bookings for the season ahead with a £100 deposit, which will be refundable if we cannot provide the holiday. Current indications are that we may not be able to get the boats out for March, but we have to be optimistic about getting cruising for the Easter break.
And into 2021

And so we move on into the next season.
We make this promise, if we can’t provide your holiday, we will refund your payment, or offer a credit note. If you can’t come, because of the virus, we will offer a credit note. Full details of our Covid-19 commitment can be found here
4th December 2020
Warwickshire in Tier 3
Warwickshire has been designated tier 3, meaning hospitality business are still closed, so we are not cruising at the moment. It is possible that the tier level will be reviewed downwards when the next review of the tiers is carried out, to be announced on 16th December, in which case we will be able to offer Christmas cruising. Watch this space! If you would like to hold a booking for Christmas or the New Year we are happy to do that, with no deposit until we know what will happen next.
Meanwhile, roll on the vaccine, and we will wish fervently for some semblance of normality next year. If you would like to get a booking in place for 2021 we are only taking £100 deposit to get that in place.
4th November 2020
Another lockdown
And we are all stop again.
We await government advice at to when we will be able to hire boats again. We are currently offering boats from 4th December, through to the New Year, but we will wait and see what happens. If you would like to hold a booking for December please let us know and we will hold without a deposit, payment to be taken at the point of taking the holiday.
If you are interested in a holiday in 2021 (and I am not good at the hard sell!) get it booked, we have unprecedented demand for 2021 holidays. We are only asking for £100 deposit. It is something to look forward to, and we all need that at the moment.

Both bases are in areas of alert level 1
Customers need to conform to the rules that are in place both in their own residential area, and the area that they are visiting on holiday. We are still operating, within safe guidelines, and look forward to welcoming you on holiday.

We are going through strange times at the moment! I just wanted to reassure you, as far as I can, that we are still operating, still sending boats out, and would hope to be able to continue to do so, unless we do go into a full national lockdown. We are very aware from talking to our customers over the last few weeks how much people are in need of escaping for a break at the moment. Many of our customers are bringing most of the food they need for the time they are away, and making the most of isolating in a very pleasant environment, although many of the pubs around the canals have been able to make extremely good arrangements in terms of outdoor space, or takeaway food.
We have implemented stringent additional cleaning measures and a strict onsite face covering policy, attempting to do everything that we can to keep you and our staff safe.
I do wish to point out that the government has now made it our responsibility, as well as yours, to enforce the “rule of 6”. Most of our boats do not accommodate beyond that anyway, but we will ask you to confirm pre arrival that you are conforming to current government legislation with regards to your party.
We understand that some people may be feeling anxious about travelling at the moment. If you have any concerns about your holiday please get in contact with us.

And we’re back! As from 4th July the government has given us the go ahead to start work again. We have boats available for hire throughout the summer period, and right on through to December. As with everything else in the world it will all look a little different, but we will try and make your experience with us as easy as possible.

We are now closed for hiring. Preparation is in place for the moment that the government allows you to stay away from home overnight.
We are developing robust measures to allow us to welcome you back to our business when we are allowed to. Ensuring that staff and customers will be safe on our premises. We are still working towards a predicted date of 4th July.
Our phones are only manned 9 am to 2 pm Monday to Friday.

We are now closed for hiring, until those in charge tell us that you can travel again we need to stop, for everyone’s safety.
However, it looks like we might be able to be operating from the 4th July 2020. (Dependent on being given the go ahead by the relevant authorities. )
We are currently working with British Marine (our trade body), and the navigation authorities to put in place robust new processes, to allow us to ensure that our customers and staff are safe.
If you would like to make a booking from 4th July onwards we would be happy to hold for you, without a deposit, until we get the go ahead, and then we will be so pleased to welcome you all back.

We are now closed for hiring, until those in charge tell us that you can travel again we need to stop, for everyone’s safety. If you have a booking with us in May (or later in the year) we are still hoping that we may be operating again. If you would prefer we will organise a credit note that you will be able to use against a future booking, and email that to you, and hope that we see you all safely on the other side of this.
If you would like to make a booking for later in the year (something to look forward to?) we would be happy to hold for you, no deposit required, and at the point that we can see the way forward we will be in touch to complete the booking. We only ask that you just hold one booking.
